Nick qualified with the Development Coach Award (UKCC Level 3) and LTA license in 2001 and became Head coach of Hythe LTC in2002. In 2004 Nick was voted Kent Coach of the year pictured below, fourth from the right) and was appointed as a Lead Coach of the East Kent Tennis Academy. In 2006,
Nick was selected as part of Kent tennis coaching Team to visit the Sanchez-Casal training base (Andy Murray use to train here-as our very own Evelyn Fleming!) to learn the Spanish coaching methods. Nick has been involved in all aspects of tennis coaching - from introducing beginners to tennis with open days and school lessons, developing a club coaching program to enable players to progress right through to passing 'High-flying' players on to the East Kent performance team at Canterbury.
In 2003, Nick achieved Mini Tennis Accreditation for Hythe LTC-which means that we were now able to offer a player aged under 10 at least 2 different days/times for coaching, regular competition and most importantly, appropriate equipment for each age of player. Mini Tennis Red players (aged 4-8) play across the width of a full sized court with a mini net, smaller rackets and larger, softer balls-effectively making tennis possible for their age and height! Mini Tennis Orange is played over the Full sized net with a base line half way between the full court baseline and service line and Mini Tennis Green is Full court but with a slightly softer ball.

Advantage Tennis is based at and working with, Hythe Lawn Tennis Club, Hythe,Kent. We are a team of licensed tennis coaches dedicated to developing tennis playing opportunities in the Shepway area with lessons also taking place at Brockhill Park School, The Folkestone Sports Centre, Marsh Academy and over 25 primary and secondary schools across Shepway. We offer development squads, individual lessons, fitness training, fun competitions and LTA ratings tournaments. We are part of the East Kent Tennis Academy which has LTA Performance status and offers the next level of training for our ‘High Flying’ players.
We have LTA Mini-Tennis Accreditation which means that we use special equipment and courts to make tennis more achievable to younger players. Interested!?
